Krista E. Kamper, Esq.

Experience

Krista E. Kamper has helped serve the legal needs of community associations in Southern California since joining the firm in 2014. Her work on their behalf includes counseling boards of directors on compliance with the Davis-Stirling Act, Corporations Code, and state and federal fair housing and other laws; interpreting and enforcing governing documents; drafting and revising rules and policies; preparing contracts with vendors; and navigating pre-litigation disputes on behalf of her clients.

Her previous legal experience includes commercial, real estate, product liability, and employment litigation. Krista was an associate in the Chicago office of a multinational firm as well as a St. Louis-based firm before she joined a firm in Newport Beach. Her caseload ranged from single plaintiff claims against industrial equipment and consumer product manufacturers to multi-district litigation involving insurance and securities fraud claims against a $100 billion life insurance company.

Real estate and community associations have been a familiar part of the landscape of both her personal life and career. Growing up in Orange County, a hotbed of community associations if not their birthplace, Krista was familiar at a young age with their benefits and responsibilities. Her father’s work in commercial real estate also piqued her interest. She had her own professional experience for two years between college and law school while doing advertising and public relations for an agency that specialized in representation of developers of master-planned communities.

After a decade of litigating matters, Krista was intrigued by the opportunity to apply her various experiences in real estate to representation of community associations. Krista finds it interesting and rewarding to counsel community associations, which exist to preserve and enhance property values as well as improve the quality of life for all residents in these communities.

Krista earned her Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and served as Associate Editor for the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English with emphasis in Professional Writing from the University of Redlands where she was an Academic All-American and played NCAA volleyball. Outside of the office, she enjoys time with her husband and two teenaged daughters road tripping, dining, and romping with their doodles.
