We take pride in actively working to support legislation in favor of our community association clients. To that end, we are excited to announce that yesterday, Governor Newsom signed AB 2114 into law.

Effective immediately, the Bill amends Civil Code § 5111 (otherwise known as the Balcony Bill), to add licensed civil engineers to the list of those eligible to conduct inspections of exterior elevated elements, along with structural engineers and architects. With the first inspection deadline set for January 1, 2025, this change helps associations of condominium projects to timely meet their statutory maintenance and repair obligations.
